RIM claims BB App World more profitable than the Android MarketPlace

During the BlackBerry DevCon Europe event, Research in Motion’s executive has taken the opportunity to release reports on how their BlackBerry App World is doing. According to the Vice President of Developer Relations, Alec Saunders, the App World is realizing six million daily downloads which totals to around 174 million app downloads a month.

What’s interesting is that RIM claims that the BlackBerry App World is so profitable for developers that is more profitable than Android citing that 13 percent of it’s developer population made more than 100k.

Anyway, whether these numbers are true or not, I believe that the future of BlackBerry rests on how well the BlackBerry 10 would appeal to the market when it comes out mid-year.

Chillingo’s Painkiller to come to iOS.

Chillingo, an acclaimed iphone game developer is said to be turning the PC game Painkiller to iOS. This classic first person shooter which resembles many aspects of its gameplay to other PC games like doom and quake, will come to iOS featuring 24 levels of slaughtering. The game is expected to apply the use of a virtual analog stick that will be used to move your character around.

This would be a great addition for iPhone users, details on it having a retina display is still in question but for those of you who know the game, I am sure that that would be the last of your concerns.
